Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DentalClinicDirectory.ca ("the Website", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website. Additional terms in section 3.2 and section 5 apply to clinics that claim a listing or buy a subscription.

2. Description of Service

DentalClinicDirectory.ca is an independent directory of dental clinics in Ontario. Listings show public business information about each clinic location, such as its name, address, phone number, website, hours and the treatments it offers or advertises.

We are not a dental clinic. We do not provide dental advice, book appointments, refer patients or recommend any clinic. Appearing under a treatment category means a clinic offers or advertises that treatment; it is not a statement about the clinic's quality or the registration class of anyone working there.

3. User Responsibilities

3.1 Visitors

  • You may browse the directory and use the contact details shown to contact clinics directly.
  • You are responsible for your own decisions about dental care. You can check any dentist's registration on the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) public register.
  • Do not send us health information about yourself or anyone else. We cannot answer questions about dental care.
  • You agree not to scrape, crawl or otherwise collect data from the Website by automated means without our prior written consent, and not to use the Website for any unlawful purpose.

3.2 Clinics (Claimed Listings)

  • You must be authorized to act for the clinic whose listing you claim.
  • Information you provide must be accurate and current, and you must keep your listing up to date.
  • When you claim a listing, you must declare the registration composition of the dentists practising at that location. If any certified specialist practises there, the claim is completed only after we have checked each declared specialist on the RCDSO public register. Until specialist checks are available, a clinic where any certified specialist practises cannot complete a public claim.
  • You must update your clinic's registration composition promptly whenever it changes (for example, when a certified specialist joins or leaves). We will ask you to reconfirm it every 12 months. If it is not reconfirmed within 30 days after it becomes due, your own content is no longer shown, your listing shows only the public business information we held when you claimed it, and paid features are paused until you reconfirm. If an existing claimed clinic reports a change that requires a specialist check, the claim remains with the clinic, but clinic-supplied content may be temporarily hidden and paid features are paused until the check is complete.
  • You are responsible for ensuring the content you add to your listing complies with the RCDSO's advertising requirements.
  • Content you submit is checked automatically. Text that includes terms regulated in dental advertising (for example, superlatives, promises of results, inducements, testimonials or specialist titles) is rejected, and we may remove content that does not meet these Terms. Owner photo uploads are not currently available.
  • If your clinic's name includes a term that is regulated in dental advertising, self-service claiming and payment are not available; email us your RCDSO practice name approval to complete your claim.

4. Listings

4.1 Listing Information

Listings are compiled from publicly available business information, such as Google business profiles and clinics' own websites. We make reasonable efforts to keep listings accurate, but we do not guarantee that any listing is complete, accurate or current.

4.2 Corrections and Removal

Clinics can ask us to correct or remove a listing at any time by emailing support@dentalclinicdirectory.ca or using the "Report an error" link on the listing page. We act on these requests promptly.

4.3 Claim Verification

Claiming confirms that you can receive email at an address connected with the clinic. It is not a check of any dentist's registration, qualifications or standing. We may refuse or cancel a claim that appears to be fraudulent or that does not meet these Terms.

5. Subscriptions

Being listed and claiming a listing are free. Paid plans are optional advertising subscriptions.

DentalClinicDirectory.ca only charges fixed monthly or annual advertising subscriptions. Fees are never calculated by lead, click, call, appointment, new patient, treatment, revenue or outcome. Subscriptions are advertising: they do not include any referral of patients, and no part of any fee is related to dental fees or treatment.

Paid clinics may appear in up to two places labelled "Sponsored" at the top of a list, and carry a "Paid advertiser" label elsewhere on the Website. Sponsored placements are separate from the regular list. Payment does not change where a clinic appears in the regular alphabetical list.

Claiming a listing or purchasing a subscription does not mean DentalClinicDirectory.ca has verified the registration class of any dentist. Registration information shown on a listing is reported by the clinic unless the listing says otherwise, and is separate from advertising status.

5.1 Who can subscribe

A clinic can start a subscription only when all of the following apply: its claim is complete; its registration composition has been declared and is current under our annual reconfirmation rules, including any applicable 30-day reconfirmation grace period; every declared certified specialist has been checked; and, if its name includes a regulated term, its practice name approval has been checked.

5.2 Compliance pause

If any of these conditions stops being met — for example, the registration composition is not reconfirmed in time, or a change is waiting for a specialist check — paid features are paused: the clinic does not appear in Sponsored places and the "Paid advertiser" label is not shown. You are not charged while paid features are paused; the period you have already paid for is extended by the number of days the pause lasted. Paid features resume when the conditions are met again.

5.3 Payments and cancellations

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe, in Canadian dollars (CAD) plus applicable taxes.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period and will not renew.
  • Payments are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, except where required by law. If paid features are paused for a compliance reason, the billing adjustment described in section 5.2 applies.

6. Intellectual Property

The Website's design, code, text and branding belong to DentalClinicDirectory.ca. Content a clinic submits (such as a description) remains the clinic's, and the clinic grants DentalClinicDirectory.ca a licence to display it on the Website while the listing is claimed.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE WEBSITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. We do not warrant that:

  • Listing information is accurate, complete or current.
  • Any clinic or dentist listed is registered, qualified or suitable for your needs.
  • The Website will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Before you receive care, you can check each dentist on the RCDSO public register and ask the clinic about fees and treatment.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, DentalClinicDirectory.ca is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website or reliance on any information on it, including any damages resulting from dealings with clinics listed on the Website.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.

10. Changes to Terms

We may change these Terms. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Clinics with a paid subscription will be told by email about changes to section 5 before they take effect.
